AddressGuard

Disposable Email Addresses

Did Yahoo break Disposable Email Addresses?

I seem to have discovered the following bug:

Mail is not delivered to the correct folders reliably.

Yahoo advertises AddressGuard as a way to allow you to create Disposable Email Addresses and to sort mail into different folders depending on which address it came in on. Very useful!

Around May 2010, Yahoo made some changes to the way AddressGuard works, and some functionality was intentionally removed (i.e., the ability to configure different filters for different disposable addresses). But they supposedly have kept the functionality to sort mail into different folders according to which disposable address was used. While they have kept this functionality, it is no longer 100% reliable.
